The Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Engr. Abubakar Yar’Adua has announced that Kaduna refinery would resume operation in a fortnight.
Speaking through the Group Executive Director (GED), Corporate Services (CS), Alhaji Ibrahim Waziri at the opening ceremony of the Chief Officers Management Development Programme (COMDP) for batches 048, 049 and 050 in Abuja, the GMD said he was elated to announce that “WRPC is back on-stream whilst the re-streaming of KRPC is in progress”.
Yar”Adua added that these developments are “testimonies to management’s continuing commitment to ensure that all aspects of our operations are given the necessary attention they deserve.
It would be recalled that on Wednesday, 6th of February, 2008, NNPC Top
Management visited Warri refinery which recently commenced operation after
two years of inactivity as a result incessant pipeline vandalism at the
Chanomi Creek.
Engr. Yar’Adua who insisted that the revival of the Warri refinery
attested to the company’s campaign against the sale of the refineries,
thanked the management and staff of WRPC for "restoring the integrity
and dignity of the NNPC through their commitment and dogged determination”.
