Information Technology Division Holds Forum with IT Consultants
The
Information Technology Division (ITD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum
Corporation (NNPC) recently organized a one day forum with IT solution providers
in Abuja with a view to improving their service delivery to the corporation.
Speaking at the forum, which was held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja recently, the Group General Manager, ITD, Mr. Chuks Onuoha said the essence of the meeting was to let the consultants know the direction of the Corporation in respect of Information and Communication Technology needs so that they could offer effective support to NNPC.
“What we are trying to do is to develop a relationship so that we can work together in a way that would enable you deploy your expertise and competencies in support of NNPC in a more effective manner”, Onuoha told the forum.
Onuoha gave an agenda of NNPC ITD and enumerated areas where the solution providers could be of assistance to the NNPC.

Participants at the one-day interactive meeting described it as a watershed,
saying it provided them opportunities to explore new ways of effectively
deploying their services in support of NNPC.
HP Enterprise Accounts Manager, Emeka Onyeokoro who spoke at the forum
said the interactive session was timely and NNPC focused which would enable
consultants to locate areas they could ‘key in’ in providing
IT solutions to NNPC.
Other participants said the forum provided a level playing ground for
IT solution providers partnering with NNPC, promising to seize the opportunity.
