NNPC CLASS ‘046’ DONATES CASH, FOOD ITEM TO TWO ORPHANAGE HOMES AT KADUNA

As part of event to mark the end of the Chief Officers’ Management Development Programme (COMDP), the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC)’s Class 046 recently donated cash and food items to the Jam’iyyar Matan Arewa and City of Refuge Orphanage Homes in Kaduna, Kaduna State.

Speaking on behalf of the class at the Jam’Iyya Matan Arewa Orphanage Home, the President, Mr. Uwemedimo Ekanem stated that their visit was part of the activities slated for the group’s closing ceremony having spent eight weeks on training.

He expressed delight to the management of the home for the love, care and affection shown on the orphans stressing that as the children grow up those qualities - love, trust and integrity inculcated in them will manifest in their behavior.

“This is what humanity means. This is how love is expressed; how people are cared for from childhood. As they grow up, they will never forget the care love and affection shown them.”

He added that “for us in class 046, we believe in love, trust and integrity, we care for these children too. It is a thing of joy to come here and support the course of the founder of this home and we believe that the token that we brought will go a long way to assisting this institution to continue doing what she is doing so marvelously well.

The Class 046 also known as the Restorers donated 10 bags of Rice, a bag of Omo, a carton of groundnut oil, a carton of biscuit and packs of sweet for the orphans.

Responding on behalf of the Management of the Home, the proprietress, Hajiya Tura Ahmed thanked the Restorer for their kind gesture and prayed that the Almighty God replenish their purse and bless them in their various fields of endeavor.

The Jam’Iyya Matan Orphange Home was founded in 1973, it presently has fifty orphans.

At the City of Refuge Orphanage Ministry, the Restorers moved with love and pity for the Orphans numbering in hundreds did not only donate the food items they went with but went as far as emptied their pockets for the training of the orphans.

In her response, the mother-in-charge, Mrs. Gertrude Njoku thanked the Restorers saying: “God has been using people from NNPC to bless us in this orphanage home, so we thank you for your support”

Recently, at the closing ceremony of the COMDP (a programme that develops and trains chief officers transiting to the management cadre) where 59 members of the Class 046 graduated, the Class President emphasized regular visitations of the various destitute homes as one of the ways the Corporation can extend its love and care to the less privileged Nigerians.
