Group Learning Department (GLD)

The Group Learning Department (GLD) is one of the three departments of the Group Human Resources Division in the Corporate Services Directorate of NNPC.

Vision and Mission

A customer focused HR partner delivering best practice services to achieve corporate goals.

Our mission is to build a highly motivated and competent workforce by ensuring timely and cost effective development of professional skills and behaviours required to achieve improved business performance.

In order to achieve the mandate of the department, six (6) sections were created, namely:-  

 

  • Leadership and Management Development Learning (LDL)
  • Non-Technical Learning (NTL)
  • Technical /Operations Learning (TOL) 
  • Skills and Competence Development (SCD)
  • Knowledge Management and Learning Systems (KML)
  • Business Logistics and Support (BLS) 

 

With a vibrant and high level departmental leadership, each section is well resourced with energetic and highly motivated experienced staff.

Focus

GLD is passionately pursuing the following:-

 

  • Development of Skills and Competence Management processes
  • Alignment of GLD efforts with corporate priorities 
  • Building a strong Learning Community with deep professional skills
  • Leadership Development framework 
  • Functional High grade policies and practices 
  • Rebuilding NNPC’s technical skill base 

 

Current Approach

All learning activities in GLD are driven by and aligned to the business priorities of the corporation.

GLD operates an all inclusive policy of carrying along all stakeholders to enlist their buy-in and support .GLD’s activities are checked and rechecked to ensure cost effective and timely delivery. This demands thorough planning and consultations within the leadership of the department.

Currently our delivery method includes the normal formal classroom setting, OJT, projects and cross-functional postings.

We believe that his will go a long way to justify the mission of GLD and help in the achievement of its vision.

 

Group Admin Services

The functions of Group Admin. Services Dept are:

 

  •      Maintenance of the Towers
  •      Office Management Services
  •      Purchasing of stationery and Office items/equipment
  •      Transportation and Passages
  •      Management of Guest Houses/Hotel Accommodation
  •      Security Services for the Towers and residences of some Top Management staff
