CPDD is providing strategic direction to the corporation. It facilitates the overall strategic planning and development of the corporation. It is the driver and the coordinator of the PACE transformation project responsible for monitoring the plan, implementation and performance.

The key objective of the CPDD during the 2005-2007 plan period include:

• Consolidate the systems for monitoring performance against Plan and assist Corporate and SBU Management in analysis and implementation.
• Coordinate and follow up the profit improvement programs of the corporation.
• Continue to assist Top Management in implementing business and corporate integrity.
• Pursue the development of new businesses, products and services throughout the corporation especially Gas utilization related businesses.
• Establish with the Refineries, PPMC and NGC Pipeline tariff for crude oil, petroleum products and natural gas.
